Bethesda Backyard Wedding photography: Carolina + Rich

On Saturday, I took my trusty 'assistant', Kian, along with me to Bethesda to photograph the intimate backyard garden wedding of Carolina + Rich.  If all weddings were this charming, the "big consumer wedding" industry would be toast!

You may remember a few weeks ago, I photographed Carolina + Rich's engagement session on campus at Georgetown. For people who don't spend a lot of time in front of the camera, they did great... but Saturday was a whole different ballgame.  Carolina was radiant, and Rich couldn't stop smiling.

There were tons of pretty little details, from the charming handmade sign made by the bride's sister, to the cheerful balloons guiding the way to the backyard,  to the rose petals sprinkled on the grass. One of the good/bad (depending on the moment) things about working with Kian is that he likes to take "behind the scenes" pictures of me hard at work... or in this case, laying down on the job (to get the shot I was looking for)!

The party afterward was lovely, with guests mingling and passed hors d'oeuvre.  Since it was such an intimate gathering, every guest at the wedding was an important one, and you could tell that both the bride and groom's parents were genuinely thrilled for their children.

Carolina, Rich, and I battled rain on several occasions leading up to the wedding, but the day of was perfect, and I couldn't be happier with the moments Kian and I were there to capture.
